WE DON’T BECOME OURSELVES ALONE
Who you are was shaped in relationship.
Who you become will be, too.
We are shaped by the people and worlds around us. Our families teach us what love looks like. Our cultures teach us what belonging requires. Religion, ethnicity, language, migration and community contribute to the stories we carry about loyalty, responsibility, success, gender, family and identity.
Which parts of those stories are truly ours?
At Gremlin Coaching, we explore the patterns beneath the surface—not to reject where you come from, but to understand it well enough to choose how you want to live. Becoming yourself doesn’t have to mean leaving everyone else behind. Belonging doesn’t have to mean losing yourself.
THE GREMLIN APPROACH
From self-awareness to human connection.
Much of personal development stops at the individual: What do I want? What do I need? What are my boundaries? Those questions matter. But there is another question:
How do I become fully myself while remaining capable of relationship?
When you understand yourself differently, you begin relating differently. When relationships change, family systems can change. And when people become more capable of honesty, boundaries, vulnerability, disagreement and repair, they participate differently in their communities.
Personal growth isn’t only personal.FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS & COMMUNICATION
Sometimes the problem isn’t the person.
It’s the pattern between people.
Families develop their own emotional language long before anyone realizes it. One person becomes responsible. Another withdraws. Someone keeps the peace. Someone gets angry. Someone rescues. Someone needs rescuing.
Eventually we can mistake these roles for personality. But a role learned in a family doesn’t have to become a life sentence.
Family relationships and communication are a central focus of my coaching practice. Together, we can explore attachment patterns, boundaries, parent–adult child relationships, sibling dynamics, emotional enmeshment, over-responsibility, people-pleasing, resentment, communication breakdown, intergenerational expectations, conflict and repair.
The purpose isn’t to decide who is right. It is to understand what is happening between you.
CULTURE, IDENTITY & BELONGING
What happens when you belong to more than one world?
Culture lives much deeper than nationality. It lives in how we understand family, how we show love, how we disagree, what we owe our parents, how independent we’re allowed to become, what marriage means, how we raise children, how we experience religion, and what remains unspoken.
Having grown up between Paris and the Middle East and lived for many years in both the United States and the Middle East, I know the experience of moving between cultural worlds.
My work welcomes people across cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds, as well as those who find themselves living between several identities. I won’t tell you which part of your culture to keep or leave behind. Instead, we’ll ask what you inherited, what you value, what no longer fits, and what you want to carry forward.
Where—and with whom—can I be fully myself and still belong?

ABOUT LARA
My work began with a question: Why do we become who we become?
I’m Lara, founder of Gremlin Coaching and an iPEC-trained life coach. My life has unfolded across cultures, countries and communities—from growing up between Paris and the Middle East to living in the United States and later returning to the Middle East.
My coaching draws on careful listening and frameworks around attachment, family systems, emotional development, boundaries and human relationships.
I don’t believe my role is to tell you who to become. My role is to help you see clearly enough to choose.
THE PODCAST
Take the conversation further.
The Gremlin Coaching podcast explores the psychology underneath everyday life—attachment, shame, guilt, boundaries, family systems, loneliness, relationships, identity, community and belonging.

What if working on ourselves isn’t only about ourselves?
Imagine a person who learns to recognize when fear is speaking; who can disagree without humiliating someone; establish a boundary without disappearing; hear criticism without collapsing; apologize without losing dignity; and tolerate another person’s difference without experiencing it as rejection.
That changes a relationship. A different relationship changes a family. Different families create different communities. And communities shape societies.
Emotional maturity can be contagious too.
START WITH A CONVERSATION
You don’t need to know exactly what the problem is before we talk.
Maybe you’re struggling in a relationship. Maybe your family keeps repeating the same conflict. Maybe you’ve spent years being the person everyone depends upon. Maybe you’re living between cultures, identities or expectations. We can start there.
I offer a complimentary introductory coaching conversation where you can tell me what’s happening, what you’re trying to understand and what you hope might change. We’ll also see whether working together feels right.
Just an honest first conversation.
